Whether you are looking for a quick & easy Halloween snack or need something for a party, this Halloween taco dip recipe will hit the spot.
This dip is incredibly easy to throw together, and you can absolutely adapt this recipe for a variety of holidays by changing up the shape of your tortilla chips. Because we’re heading toward Halloween, I decided to shape my tortillas using cookies cutters for the season.
Jump to RecipeSo What Do You Need For This?

You can easily pull this dip together with less than 10 ingredients, but the key ones you need are:
- Ground beef
- Taco seasoning
- Refried beans
- Sour cream
- Shredded cheese
- Diced tomatoes
- Green chilies
- Green onions
- Tortillas
Making Your Tortillas

The tortillas are super easy to make, the trick is to keep an eye on them in the oven (set at 350F) as they can burn very quickly. Beyond that, all you need is to cut out your Halloween shapes from the standard round tortilla and lay them flat on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
You can also lay them flat on a greased cookie sheet as well or use a cooking grid, but parchment paper makes cleaning up a dream.
Once they’re cut and ready, you simply pop them into the oven for around 5 minutes. You’ll know they’re done when the edges start to brown slightly.
Making the Halloween Taco Dip
This dip recipe is a layered recipe, with about five layers total. The trick I like is to use a oven safe dish that comes with a lid as it makes storing any leftovers as simple as popping the lid on and sliding it into the fridge. It’s also useful if you need to prepare this dip ahead of time. For an idea of the kind of dish that you might like, I recommend finding yourself something similar to this casserole dish available through Amazon.

Spray the bottom of the dish with some cooking oil and spread the refried beans over the bottom. This will be the base of your dip.
The next step is to take a saucepan over medium high heat to brown your ground beef. Cook the beef until there is absolutely no pink remaining and then toss the taco seasoning in and mix well. Spread this beef mixture over top the beans in the oven dish.

The next layer of this dip is sour cream. A spoon works quite well to spread the sour cream evenly over the ground beef. Then you’ll want to sprinkle a generous layer of your cheese over the sour cream.

The final layer is a combo of tomatoes and green chilies. They do not need to fully cover the cheese layer if you don’t want them too. I’ve always found less chilies can sometimes be better at any rate.
Then all that’s left is to pop that dish into the oven at 350F for around 25 minutes, it’s ready to serve once you observe the cheese layer bubbling along nicely.
Wrapping Everything Up Together

So this dip keeps wonderfully in the fridge for about 3 days. Simply remove and reheat to enjoy again. I recommend if you are using a microwave to reheat it that you do it gradually to avoid too many soggy layers. The oven is as simple as popping it back in at 350F until it’s heated through again (around 15 minutes or so).
I hope you enjoyed this delicious recipe post. If so, I’d appreciate it if you’d share it on your favorite social media platform and pin it to Pinterest!

Until next time, stay crafty!!
